Photographer Hedi Slimane and his work
As an addict to Urban Outfitters and their blog, I came across a photographer named Hedi Slimane. Slimane’s work is classy, beautiful, and breath-taking. Slimane has photographed many famous models, such as Kate Moss and rock musicians such as her boyfriend, Pete Doherty of the Libertines and Babyshambles. His work is always in black and white, which adds class to his photographs. The blacks just POP right out, and the whites a perfect illumination against the blacks. Side Note: One thing I learned this past spring semester in my Photo 1 class is that your blacks should be black, and whites, white. meaning none should look grey. Slimane is a MASTER at this in his black and white pictures. My personal favourite of his portfolio pieces is The Hedi Slimane Diary, which features models and his travels throughout The U.S. such as LA and different night clubs and rock concerts. However, I have decided to write AS MUCH as I can, and AS OFTEN as I can! I wrote myself a sticky note today to remind me to blog every day, and check the Communications e-mails. I’m still working here at the Communications office for the summer. Anywho, just a little reminder to all of you out in blog-land, Sage-land, or whereever you may be, I’m going to keep up with this blog, thanks to a small reminder on a small “Post-It” note stuck to my computer.
