Plaza Alvear

Having taken yesterday (Sunday) as a day of rest by the rooftop pool—which was greatly needed considering it has been nonstop since getting off the plane—it was nice to get more sightseeing in today. After an early breakfast it was time to head over to Plaza Alvear to see the famous Cementerio de la Recoleta to see the tombs. Here Eva Paron’s (Evita) tomb had a number of beautiful flowers set outside of it and a queue of tourists waiting to take a picture of the plaques that adorn the front of the tall structure.

After a quick stop into a beautiful church that stood beside the cemetery it was time to rest my feet. Sitting in the plaza I watched the city go by. Happy couples sitting in the shade, tourists walking by and dogs playing in the grass greeted me as I laid in the Buenos Aires sunshine.
Pizza for lunch on Ortiza Street and then a walk through a large mall to see the upscale shops and boutiques before heading back to the hotel to settle in and rest up for tomorrow.
Having had a busy day it was a treat to swim, once again in the marvelous rooftop pool, catch some rays, and finally, to watch the sunset. The sky was a stream of colors and then it went dark. The stars are peeking out as dawn has come.
The breeze keeps pace with the city and another day in Argentina has once again left me in awe of this incredible South American metropolis. With so much more to do and see I’m excited to see what the rest of the week will hold.
Have you been to Buenos Aries? If so let me know other landmarks, restaurants, and attractions to check out during my ten days here. Post a comment below.
Until tomorrow. Adios!
